Hi, is there a document that describes in detail the admin features available in the Pro versions? In particular how user/groups are managed and additional control on documents and folders over and above the simple read/write available in the community version?

Tks,
Adam

There\'s no document about it, maintaining extra documentation after any release is a problem not well done solved ( still ).

Only I can suggest this screen shots on version 2.0:
1- http://www.openkm.com/Screenshots/Administration.html
2- http://www.openkm.com/Screenshots/Advanced-search.html
3- http://www.openkm.com/Screenshots/Admin-users.html

1-> Some graphics about repository control size, and logged users ( logout function here ).
2-> Advanced search.
3-> User administration ( creating users / assigning roles / disabling users etc... ).

About read / write grants, we\'ve been thinking adding some security grant to assign which users can change permission on documents and folders. But we want to made more complexity on this way, because for user could be not clearly. Now write and security grant are merged ( probably not good idea ).

Hi jllort,

Thanks for the response. I logged into the forum today to raise the issue of security! At the moment, it seems any user with access to a folder/file can grant any other user access. There definately needs to be be a means of controlling who can change permissions.

Also, who can see what. For example, I\'m investigating DMSs on behalf of a client. They are looking at a DMS to share documents with a large number of global sub-contractors working on their project. Ideally, each subcontractor will only have access to a subsection of the DMS, including views on who else is setup on the DMS. Atm everyone can see all users, which would proabably be fine for single company, but may be an issue in this scenario.

Rgds,
Adam

External users normally must use rols by any external company, that\'s the more easy way to cover your case, better than user ( if exists more than one user per company ).
