Suggestion : Indexation par classification à facettes...

Bonjour,

Excuses but I can not response you in francais. Your proposal seems insteresting if you got some url to take a look on it ( example ) that will be great ( at least if it's some basic example or screenshot ).

ok I speack english...

You can have a look at :
http://flamenco.berkeley.edu/index.html : in this project the user interface may be better but the spirit of faceted navigation is here. What is interesting is combination of facetes to describe information (information is like human beiing - "to be" - you call it and information come to you) and not looking for a site where to find information (information is like object - "to have" - you have to take the information into a space). Bay te way in this manner you can expend very easyly your faceted classification because each facete is free of others. Each facet is like a little classification independant from others facetes. Ranganathan explain that you need only 5 facets to index encyclopedic knoledge : PEMST (Personnality, Energy, Matiere, Space, Time). In reality it's a little beat more complicated but the idea is here. With PEMST Ranganathan use ananlogy thinks to index information. Commercial web sites use this faceted navigation more and more because it's very easy for users to connect ideas with faceted indexation. So I think this paradigm may be a very good alternative to hierachical organisation (space organisation) for a knowledge management system. The advantage against thesaurus is tha faceted indexation is easily to grown and not a thesaurus (hierarchy links are very rigid and facetes use hierarchy but less than thesaurus because it's the combination schemes between facets making the main job of the indexation). If you look at google or wikipedia with "faceted navigation", "faceted classification" you can find more informations.

Happy new year 2013 !
Patrick
