Workflow forms in xhtml

Post by Petr_Valenta » Tue May 30, 2017 10:50 am

Hello

I am able to use xforms defined within forms.xml (https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/wf ... ition.html).

How can I use xhtml-forms? I am able to create them, put them into deployment but they are not displayed.

Server:
VMWare 12 Pro
Memory 12 GB
1 proc - 4 cores
Centos 7 Server
PostgreSQL 9.2.18
OpenKM 6.3.4

Dev PC:
VMWare 12 Pro
Memory 8 GB
1 proc - 4 cores
Ubuntu 16.04
java 1.6
JBoss Developer Studio 5.0.0.GA - installed according to https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/wf ... io-5x.html (jbdevstudio-product-universal-5.0.0.v20120615-1714-H213-GA.jar + jbpm-installer-3.3.1.GA.jar)

Many thanks in advance for your answer.

I suggest you use our openkm portable https://sourceforge.net/projects/openkmportabledev/ ( what come with all installed ). The next release will be in a VM, but meanwhile this is the best aproach.

Hello

I downloaded a "OpenKM-6.3-community-portable-dev-1.0.zip" on 5.6.2017.

There are a lot of "forms.xml" approach in eclipse project called "workflow-course".

But there is no one using xhtml ...

Or should I look somewhere else in the structure of this download?

When you build a workflow, it's created a .par file. The par file contains classes forms etc... Take this forms as reference, see in the top you have an specific dtd ( take a look here https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/ok ... table.html )

I'm afraid I don't understand....

The first: There is no .par file (I'm using JBoss Developer Studio configured according to informations on your web).

The second:

I have created a "old-fashioned" forms.xml looking like this:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE workflow-forms PUBLIC "-//OpenKM//DTD Workflow Forms 2.4//EN" "http://www.openkm.com/dtd/workflow-forms-2.4.dtd">

<workflow-forms>
  <workflow-form task="DoSomething">
    <input label="Purchase price" name="price" type="text" readonly="false"/>
    <textarea label="Purchase description" name="description" readonly="false"/>
    <button name="submit" label="Submit" validate="true" style="yes"/>
  </workflow-form>
</workflow-forms>
Now both the deployment and the function of the form are ok - everything is working as expected.

Now I generate a XHTML form by GUI in the studio, it looks like this

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd" >

<!-- the DOCTYPE means we are required to use html for a root element -->
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
      xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
      xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core"
      xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
      xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
      xmlns:tf="http://jbpm.org/jsf/tf"
      xmlns:jbpm="http://jbpm.org/jsf">

  <ui:component>

    <jbpm:dataform>

      <f:facet name="header">
        <h:outputText value="#{taskName}"/>
      </f:facet>

      <!-- TASKFORM ROWS -->
    <jbpm:datacell>
      <f:facet name="header">
        <h:outputText value="FieldOne"/>
      </f:facet>
      <h:inputText value="#{var['FieldOne']}" />
    </jbpm:datacell>

      <jbpm:datacell>
        <f:facet name="header">
          <h:outputText value="Actions"/>
        </f:facet>
        <!-- TASKFORM BUTTONS -->
      <tf:saveButton value="Save"/>
      <tf:cancelButton value="Cancel"/>
      <tf:transitionButton transition="btnSubmit" value="Submit"/>
      </jbpm:datacell>

    </jbpm:dataform>

  </ui:component>

</html>
The forms.xml has been changed into

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE workflow-forms PUBLIC "-//OpenKM//DTD Workflow Forms 2.4//EN" "http://www.openkm.com/dtd/workflow-forms-2.4.dtd">
<workflow-forms>
  <workflow-form task="DoSomething">
    <input label="Purchase price" name="price" type="text" readonly="false"/>
    <textarea label="Purchase description" name="description" readonly="false"/>
    <button name="submit" label="Submit" validate="true" style="yes"/>
  </workflow-form>
  <form task="DoSomething" form="DoSomething.xhtml"/>
</workflow-forms>
Trying to depoly end up with two error dialogs.
  • The first dialog says "Unexpected exception while receiving the reposne from the server."
  • The second one "The process archive could not be deployed."
And in the log:

Code: Select all

I have never created the form from that option, always I have created as new file. Are you using our portable dev environment or your own ?

Hello

I'm using my own based on instructions on your web - JBoss Developer Studio 5.x.
I had to go to Linux, on windows xhtml forms' editor is not working.

And are you talking about forms.xml or xhtml-forms?

Forms.xml are fine. I also create them by hand in the text editor. There is no problem.

Problem are xhml forms created by JBoss GUI.

For me they offer better possibilities to look and to work with.

You did not answered my question. I take it as OpenKM is not supporting them and I will abandon this topic.

Thank you for your effort. I suggest to close this topic.

Are not supported, we use xml definition and then into OpenKM we convert these xml in GWT widgets ( that is what you are seeing from workflow panel view from dashboard ).
